Who we are

Leela School of Performing Arts is a dance school offering classes in East Windsor, Kendall Park, and Monroe, New Jersey, with a branch in the Dallas, Texas area. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Booking and registration details. When you book a trial class or register, we ask for your name, your phone or WhatsApp number, your email address, your town, the program you are interested in, and — for children's classes — your child's name, age or date of birth, and level.

Health and safety information. Any condition, allergy, or injury you tell us about so a student can take part safely, and an emergency contact.

Payment information. Tuition and fees are processed by Stripe through our class-management system, Class Manager. Your card details go directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. We never see or store full card numbers. We do see, and keep, a record of what was paid, when, and for which class.

Messages. If you contact us or book a class, we keep the messages we exchange — text, WhatsApp, and email — so we can follow up properly.

Attendance records. Which classes a student attended, kept for the school's own scheduling, make-ups, and progress.

Website analytics. We use standard analytics to understand how visitors use the site — pages visited, and how you found us. This is aggregate usage data. It is not tied to your child.

Children's privacy

Our website, booking form, and registration portal are designed for parents and adult students, not for children to use on their own. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

The information we hold about a child — name, age, level, health notes — is given to us by a parent or guardian for enrollment, placement, and safety, and we use it only for those purposes. We do not use children's information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

As a parent or guardian you may, at any time: review the information we hold about your child, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or refuse further collection. Contact us using the details at the foot of this policy and we will honor the request. Deleting information we need to run a class may mean we cannot keep a student enrolled, and we will tell you plainly if that is the case.

How we use your information

  • To arrange trial classes and place students at the right level.
  • To send booking confirmations, receipts, class reminders, schedule changes, and follow-ups.
  • To take tuition and fees through our payment providers.
  • To keep students safe in class.
  • To keep the school's own records — attendance, enrollment history, and accounts.
  • To understand how families find us, so we can reach more of them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How we contact you

We contact families by text message, WhatsApp, phone, and email — about bookings, class reminders, schedule changes, and follow-ups. Texts and calls come from the school's own number, currently +1-732-476-8745. If that number ever changes, we will tell you.

Standard message and data rates may apply. We do not send marketing texts, and we do not use an automated texting service — messages come from the school directly. To stop hearing from us on any channel, just tell us, and we will stop.

Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who help us run the school, and only so far as they need it:

  • Class Manager — registration, scheduling, attendance, invoicing, and the parent portal.
  • Stripe — card payments and payouts.
  • Google (Workspace and Analytics) — email and website analytics.
  • WhatsApp — messages you exchange with the school.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.

How long we keep it

We keep enrollment and attendance records for as long as a student is with the school and for a reasonable period afterward, so a returning family does not have to start again and so we can meet tax and accounting obligations. Payment records are kept for seven years to meet those obligations. Marketing contact details are kept until you ask us to stop. You can ask us to delete information sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep it.

How we protect it

Access to student and family records is limited to Indira and to staff who need it to teach or administer a class. Our systems are accessed over encrypted connections and protected by passwords and, where available, two-factor authentication.

Your choices & rights

You may ask us to: show you what we hold, correct anything wrong, delete what we no longer need, stop sending you marketing messages, or stop contacting you. Contact us and we will respond as promptly as we can.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law. We apply the choices above to every family regardless of state, because it is simpler and fairer.

Links to other sites

Our site links to other services, including our payment and booking portal and our social media pages. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use information about your family, we will tell you.
