Terms of Enrollment & Website Use

Who we are

These terms cover classes with, and use of the website of, Leela School of Performing Arts ("the school," "we," "us"), a dance school with classes in East Windsor, Kendall Park, and Monroe, New Jersey, and a branch in the Dallas, Texas area. By registering for a class, using our online registration portal, or using this website, you agree to these terms. If you are registering on behalf of a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or legal guardian.

Free trial classes

We offer a free trial class for students new to the school, in our Beginners classes. The online trial currently runs at Monroe and Kendall Park. There is no obligation to enroll after a trial.

Trial places are subject to class capacity, and we may suggest a different day, time, or level so that a student is placed where they will do best. Classes above Beginners level assume prior training and are not available as a trial. If you are unsure which level suits your child, please ask us before registering.

Registration, tuition & fees

Registration is completed through our online portal. Tuition is charged at the time you register, using the card you enter, unless we have agreed a different arrangement with you in advance. You will see the total before you confirm, and you will receive an emailed confirmation and receipt.

Tuition is charged per season. Our seasons run September to December, January to March, and April to June. Current tuition for each class is shown in the portal at the time of registration.

There is no registration fee. Where recital or costume fees apply to a program, they are shown before you are charged.

Sibling and mother-daughter discount. Where two or more members of the same family are enrolled — siblings, or a mother and daughter — a 10% discount applies to the family's tuition.

Card payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor, through our class-management system. Stripe's own terms apply to the payment itself. We never see or store your full card number.

A note on enrolling more than one class. The final payment screen shows a total rather than a list. Please review the order page that appears immediately before it, which itemizes each class, and contact us straight away if a charge does not look right.

Withdrawals, cancellations & refunds

Withdrawing. To withdraw a student, please tell us in writing — email or WhatsApp is fine — at least 30 days before the withdrawal takes effect.

Refunds.

• Withdrawal before the season's first class: full refund of tuition.

• Withdrawal during the first week of the season: refund of tuition less the classes already held.

• Withdrawal after the first week: tuition is not refunded, except where a student cannot continue for medical reasons. In that case, please send us a note from a doctor, and we will refund the unused portion of the season.

Missed classes. We do not refund individual missed classes. Where a suitable class at the same level is running, we will offer a make-up place within the same season. Please arrange make-ups with us in advance so we can be sure there is room.

If we cancel. If we cancel a class and cannot offer a reasonable make-up, we will credit or refund that class.

Costume and recital fees are not refundable once items have been ordered or arrangements made.

Late payment. If a payment fails or is not completed, we will hold the student's place for seven days and let you know. After that, we may release the place to another student.

Scheduling, levels & placement

Students are placed at the level that suits their training and experience, which is our decision to make in the student's interest. We may move a student between levels, and we will always discuss it with you first.

Several of our classes run at the same time in the same venue, by design — a higher level sits in with the level below and continues after it finishes. A student can only attend one class in any given time slot. If you register for two classes that run at the same time, please contact us, and we will put it right.

We may need to change a class time, venue, or teacher, or combine classes where numbers are low. We will give as much notice as we can.

Class conduct & safety

Students are expected to follow instructor guidance, treat teachers and classmates with respect, and wear attire appropriate to their class.

For younger students, a parent or guardian is responsible for timely drop-off and collection at the class venue. Please do not leave a child unattended before a class begins.

Please tell us about any health condition, allergy, or injury that could affect a student's safe participation, and keep us updated if it changes.

Dance is physical activity. Students — and parents, for students under 18 — accept the ordinary risks that come with it, and agree that students will participate within their own limits and stop if something hurts.

We may pause or end an enrollment where behavior endangers others or repeatedly disrupts a class. Any prepaid, unused tuition is handled under the refund terms above.

Photographs & video

Our approach to class and performance photography, including images of children, and how to opt out, is set out on our Media Release page. Opting out never affects a student's place in class.

How we contact you

We contact families by text message, WhatsApp, phone, and email — about bookings, class reminders, and schedule changes. Texts and calls come from the school's own number, currently +1-732-476-8745. Standard message and data rates may apply. Tell us at any time if you would rather we used a different channel, or stopped, and we will.

Website use

Site content — text, images, artwork, and video — belongs to the school or its licensors. Please do not reuse it without permission.

The website is provided as-is. We work to keep schedules and details accurate, but our class-management system's records govern actual bookings and billing, and those records prevail if the website and the portal ever disagree.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the school's liability in connection with classes or this website is limited to the amount you have paid us for the classes concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Where a change affects tuition or refunds for a season you have already paid for, the terms you agreed to at registration continue to apply for that season.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
